What's your political party affiliation all about?
I've been a registered voter since the age of twenty-one. At first I chose to be a Republican. I chose this political denomination for all the right reasons.....Liaise fair....smaller government...the multiplier effect of money invested into the right hands....and a striking naivity in the belief that Social Responsibility was built into the very fiber of moral character which makes this a very free society in which we live....capable of not being ruled by imposed restrictions due to our lack of humanity and concern for all members of our society....rich & poor....atheletes & physically impared....smart vs. challenged....leaders vs. followers.
Mid life crisis came for me at the age of 30, with the force of a thunderbolt....the reality of time vs. progression in your professional career....the realization of travel and its corresponding experiences which have an everlasting impact..exploration into the wonders and perils of different cultures and natural environments...and the reality of the undeveloped and struggling world and the sincerety of humbleness when only just the little things....
Ronald Reagan....Papa Bush...and then Bill Clinton when I reached the age of 40. I admit with all sincerity....that I did vote for Bill and am proud of what he did for our country. Even though I may not agree with how he did everything! So at this point...as you can summize...I was a Democrat.
Now.....and for a very long now.....arriving at the next big click on the dial....the big 50....I am very clearly, outspokenly...indubidably....a "NPA" or as they are known...a "No Party Affiliation" designation status....at least that's what's on my Voter's Registration card.
More commonly amongst us working class "I'm an independent".
Having participated in both major parties....I understand the political engines...infrastructures...tools and power associated with membership in these social networks. Fund raising...Pork Belly Lobyist...Spin engines...War rooms...Entitlements...Industry Affiliations.
But neither of these previous parties endowed any political representation or power to the people. Everything cators to institutions, corporations, societal benefactors, infrastructures, programs, and non-profit entities....
But none of these entities are PEOPLE..... HUMAN BEINGS. ... HAVE CONSCIOUSNESS... account for humanity.
That is the reason there is an "Emerging Independent Majority". This is not something I've canned but...is well said by major leading economic publishers...and I'm just the young turk to say it!
According to the Economist in
"In 1966 only 1% of the electorate registered as independents. Today the figure is about 15%. And the number of people who think of themselves as independents without bothering to register as such is far higher, at about a third of the electorate. " The today reference is January of the year 2000.
This is prior to 9/11, Afghanistan War, Iraqi War, and not to mention the political war which has existed between our parties since the last time our stock markets took a major dive back in 2000 the same year that our bubble burst...and our dreams were crashed into oblivion by the doomsayers...the brick & mortar....the robber barons of the new milenia.
8 years since the WTC...and we are still afraid of our shadow....this is not the mark of courage...this is the mark of fear. And this is what we have been sold by either political party. That is why today I estimate given recent primaries and state statistics as well as gut feel interaction with colleagues that this is closer to a 45-50% range...at least in spirit.
Because if we as a people do not stand up for our human rights...the right of the people on this planet..and of their children and generations to come ....we will not be ensured a more humane existance...with equitable opportunities in the distribution of education, resources, and capital..and when we say resources...we mean natural as well as man-made.
Independents are tired of our man-made infrastructures designed by men to do one and only one thing...exploit the masses. We value the natural gifts of resources ...our plants...our animals...our ecosystems...our seas...our planet. Not just the Armani's, Bentley's, and Ferrari's.
Independents believe in the balance of powers, the value of the blindness of justice....and the fair treatment of all.
Independents are cogniscent of their eroded rights, the bestowment to banks and financial institutions of massive powers of abuse in interest charges and the oligopolies which own our credit reputations and also of the very greed of its stockholders...yes...humans....which have created the very crisis for which we face today....nothing...absolutely nothing...to be said about the accumulations of wealth which are unparalleled and most representative of human greed and inhumane concern.
Independents are aware of the advantages of technology and how this is changing the political bounderies of sovereign entities around the world.
Independents are more in tune with the rest of the world's opinion which envelopes our very existance as a major power...albeit owned by most the rest of the world!
Yes...independence....that is what our country's very first fiber was first extracted from...the very fiber which when woven produced the USA flag..in all its forms and versions. It's what seperates us from other democratic societies that operate upon a "dependence" model.
It is time for us the people...to rize up to those beliefs which are common to all great men and women..to all great societies and civilizations...to all which are conforted by the beauty of our natural environment and by the kindness found within humane human beings.
Maybe...just maybe our aggregations of independents...if we join in hands...in thought...and most importantly in technology....can settle a few scores...make it a more even playing field...and maybe even muster enough political might to ensure and insist that we...as a nation....with our courage and might...and indepedence...can have the freedom of mind, spirit, and inspiration to make our society independent of our current power sources...and be masters of alternative energy to the extent that all pre-milenia notions of global political and economic domination are washed away with the change in such a powerful new paradigm.
